Plus it's a game about vampires, and I don't imagine too many people wanted a game about vampires where you're actively discouraged from doing vampire stuff. Since you wouldn't know how anything works yet, and the game flat out tells you "drink this dude's blood now, he's a shitty person too so it's probably fine". They also throw a massive beginners trap at you early on that can easily ruin your playthrough if you wanted to go for the best ending. Whatever narrative this game was trying to get across is insanely broken, since you can literally go out and murder actual humans and even suck their blood during combat, just as long as they aren't named NPCs I guess it's fine. Could be a hardened serial killer or a gangster or literally hitler, doesn't matter, it's always the bad choice. The only thing that seems to matter is whether or not you embrace people (and whether or not you keep the districts healthy by distributing medicine, I believe).Īnd it doesn't even matter who it is, if they're a named NPC drinking their blood is always considered bad. There's tons of dialogue choices in the game, they don't matter at all (they only effect which hints you can unlock, and most of them do absolutely nothing). My biggest issue with the way they did the endings is how arbitrary the requirements are.
